The national final took place on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Paris, during the Salon Mondial du Tourisme. After several weeks of consideration and selection, 10 teams took part in the national final of the New Explorer Challenge 2024.
Good news for Antoine, Clara, Esther and Manon, all four students in their 3rd year of a Bachelor's degree in Tourism. After learning that they had been selected for the national final of the New Explorer Challenge, alongside 2 other Esthua teams, the Angevins learned that they had triumphed and won first place in the competition thanks to their adventure trip to Bolivia.
Offered to students for educational purposes, the New Explorer Challenge combines theory and practice, offering a tour operator-quality adventure trip in just a few weeks.
This year's theme was exceptional travel. The jury, chaired by Fabrice del Taglia, Managing Director of Nomade Aventure, was seduced by this trip to Latin America, dedicated to the discovery of Amazonian Bolivia. Between flora and fauna, the trip also provides an opportunity to meet the local people: the Uchupiamonas.
A second ESTHUA team on the podium, in 3rd place.
Another fine performance by Thelma and Anna, also students in the Bachelor 3 Tourism program at Esthua, who came third in the competition with their trip to the Congo. A journey to the heart of the tropical forest to meet the Pygmies.
What happens next? The two teams each receive a grant for a reconnaissance trip to the proposed destination: 4000 euros (1st place) and 2000 euros (3rd place). Both grants are awarded by the New Explorer Challenge partner: Nomade Aventure.

THE NEW EXPLORER CHALLENGE: THEORY MEETS PRACTICE
The NEC (New Explorer Challenge) is a national inter-student challenge designed to reflect on the evolution of sustainable adventure travel and stimulate the renaissance of international tourism.
Each year, several schools take part in the competition, which is organized in several phases, culminating in the grand Parisian final, held at the Salon Mondial du Tourisme and submitted to a grand jury of professionals.
The 2024 edition focused on the design of an innovative and responsible sustainable adventure/expedition of a new kind, and was chaired by Fabrice Del Taglia, CEO of Nomade Aventure.
